The Limit of Massive Small Bowel Resection and the Postoperative Management



Abstract
Occasionally, massive small bowel resection cannot be avoided when the surgeon is::. faced !with-severe extensive disease of the intestine. The highly developed technologyof modern anesthesia, postoperative management, etc. has reduced the risk of theimmediate death to be caused by the operation but it is considered very difficult to keep good prognosis because of the ill effects on nutrition following massive small bowel, resection which may ensure.
A case of massive small bowel resection undertaken at Kyung Hee Medical Centeris reported with literature review on the limit of massive small bowel resection and the postoperative management
